We, the founding members of this organization, are deeply concerned about the mistreatment, misunderstanding, attacks, and even killings of people with disabilities in many parts of Africa.
We envision a world where people with albinism are fully integrated into all aspects of society and discrimination is a thing of the past. To achieve this goal, we have come together to work with government authorities, local associations, private entities, individuals, other NGOs, and donors both locally and internationally.
We aim to provide legal, social, and economic assistance to marginalized groups in our society, including but not limited to the elderly, children, women, and persons with disabilities.
KEDEF Transforming society to prioritize equality and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities while combating gender-based violence involves multifaceted approaches at various levels of society. And allocate resources towards accessible infrastructure, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Keysha Empowering Development Foundation exists to build an inclusive society where persons with disabilities can achieve their full potential.
For over 3 years, Keysha Empowering Development Foundation has worked alongside persons with disabilities in some of the poorest communities across Tanzania. By working directly with persons with disabilities, other disadvantaged populations, and partner organizations, by influencing policy at all levels, and by inclusively responding to emergencies and natural disasters, we strive to remove barriers that hinder a person’s full and equal participation in society.
Over 2 million people in Tanzania live with disabilities, and they need your support now more than ever before to break the cycle of poverty and disability.
Disability is both a cause and a consequence of poverty. Poverty causes disability due to limited access to good nutrition, adequate health care, clean water, or unsafe working conditions. A person with a disability is less likely to have access to education, health employment and rehabilitation making it difficult for them to escape the vicious cycle of poverty.
There are still high barriers to inclusion, from the classroom to the workplace and beyond, including discrimination against people with disabilities. must end now.
Education is a fundamental right, but over 1.5 million children with disabilities in poorer regions are deprived of this. We aim to change that.
We strive to remove barriers that hinder individuals with disabilities from engaging in livelihood activities. Our approach is unique as we bring together people with and without disabilities to work as one inclusive team.
Keysha Empowering Development Foundation strives to create an inclusive society where individuals with disabilities can achieve their full potential. KEDEF conducts awareness campaigns to challenge stereotypes and stigmas associated with disabilities and gender.
